Vinay Kothari is the Founder and CEO of GO DESi where he is responsible for supervising all areas of business operations. An entrepreneur by chance, Vinay is an FMCG industry veteran with 10+ years of experience across sales, distribution and marketing functions. Driven by his belief that capitalism doesn’t have to be a zero-sum game, but rather a tool that can empower all stakeholders, he took on the entrepreneurial path and went on to launch GO DESi. Before founding GO DESi in 2018, Vinay was working with ITC Limited, where he led sales teams across rural and urban India, and he managed leading FMCG brands like Sunfeast as well as several other sub-brands of ITC. Vinay was also a part of a pioneer social business model - E- Choupal, where he was responsible for rural distribution and Choupal Saagar (rural hypermarket) projects. The idea behind his venture is to make India’s forgotten regional foods accessible to the urban masses while empowering the rural communities in the country.
