Vernacular and voice enabled technologies have been the talk of the town for a while now, owing to the sheer potential that they have shown in changing the world for good - one industry at a time. Sachin Jaiswal, the leading man of the same technology and a flagbearer of powerful AI startups in India with his venture Niki.ai, has a coinciding belief in the possibilities of AI and machine learning technologies to make lives easier.
After graduating from IIT Kharagpur in the stream of Electrical Engineering and working with Oracle as a Product Manager for a year, Sachin began his entrepreneurial journey by co-founding Innovaccer - a Silicon Valley headquartered healthcare analytics company where he worked for 3 years and saw it scaling to over 200 employees.
An engineer by qualification, Jaiswal graduated from IIT Kharagpur in 2011 and started working at Oracle as a Product Manager where he built data-driven products. After working at Oracle for about a year, Sachin began his entrepreneurial journey by co-founding Innovaccer - a Silicon Valley headquartered healthcare analytics company where he started out as Vice President Operations and later took the position of VP Business Development where he was responsible for sales & marketing. In his three-year engagement there, he led the business to growth, both globally & across industries and saw it scaling to over 200 employees.
Bringing a diverse set of experiences across different business functions along with his vast knowledge of the subject, Sachin created Niki.ai along with three of his friends in 2015 in an attempt to simplify e-commerce and the overall experience of transacting online for the next billion internet users of India. He believes in the power of technology and its applications to solve problems, simplify things and build businesses at scale. Working towards making technology accessible to the masses is what leads him to contribute to Niki’s growth trajectory.
At Niki, Jaiswal oversees the entire product strategy of the company, leading product design, UX and the product roadmap. His vision, initiatives and decision-making capabilities have helped the company achieve a continuous and non-linear growth while his inputs for the product roadmap are transforming the way Indians transact online -, using a voice and vernacular enabled commerce platform.
In fact, one of his memorable assignments revolve around these core capabilities. As Jaiswal recounts, “We had to build the UX for a conversational AI. Since we were the first players in the space to work on this technology, there were very little benchmark available, so we had to design from scratch. It’s a great validation that most of what we built for the next billion users of Bharat is being adopted by these vernacular-first users, with or without incentivisation”
Sachin advocates that a successful company is built by a great team which in turn is built by a great organisation culture. He has played a key role in building Team Niki which currently stands at 80+ members. By building a fulfilling onboarding and training process over the last few years, he has also helped his team members grow with a steep learning curve and become extremely efficient in making Niki better with each passing day.
