Mr. Rajesh Jain is Director and Chief Executive Officer for Lacoste India. Lacoste is a leading French lifestyle brand operating in more than 114 countries. Lacoste ventured into the domestic market through Sports and Leisure Apparel Ltd (SLA) - its exclusive partner for India, which is promoted by the Turner Morrison group.
The challenges of a developing retail industry and unique business acumen inspired Mr. Jain to join Lacoste and make a thoughtful shift from a hardcore financial background to the thriving and upcoming retail industry during the early part of the new millenium.
Before taking over as CEO, Mr. Jain was the CFO for Lacoste India for three years, and his responsibilities included managing the financial risks of the corporation, designing and implementing systems and processes across the board, managing Supply Chain, IT, Sourcing and Legal funcitons. He closely worked with other core members of the top management in creating strategies and overseeing its timely and effective implementation. He possesses wide ranging knowledge and unique perspective on the retail industry having worked for leading organisations across the spectrum.
Since taking over his new role in October 2009, Mr Jain has led Lacoste India’s operations through a period of rapid expansion in the Indian market, which sees it on target to meet the goal of steadily increasing points of sale and sales itself through customer delight. With managerial and business development experience across industries spanning more than 15 years, Mr Jain has earned a reputation for innovation and leadership.
Mr Jain is a Master of Commerce from the University of Delhi and a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He obtained his Company Secretary degree from Institute of Company Secretaries of India. A complete family man, he loves spending time with his wife and daughter, and is also an avid golfer.
National pride, or the spirit that binds us together as a
collective soul, does not have a permanent home in our
hearts and mind. For most of us it responds to the
stimulus of a cricket match, on national holidays or
situations of armed conflict. Most of the times we are
filled with mixed emotions.
