Mr. Ajit Deshmukh is a Key management person at Equirus Capital, a Category I Merchant Banker registered with Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). Since 2012, he has been associated with Equirus in leading the technology space and had played a leadership role in cross border Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and fund raising for technology companies.

Prior to joining Equirus, Mr. Deshmukh was the founder of Wizarth Advisors, a boutique investment banking firm that offered financial advisory service to more than 25 cross boarder M&A transactions.

Mr. Deshmukh began his professional career as a faculty at Aptech after completing his B.E (Electornics) from Mumbai University. He later then joined Citigroup as a software professional and completed Post Graduation in Software Technology form NCST (now CDAC).

Mr. Deshmukh worked as a software professional in the United States and was also associated with the US Dept. of Defense. He returned to India in 1995 and since then it was a beginning of an entrepreneurial career for him. He started a Data Warehousing company ACE Infotech and later an offshore software development company Y-Point which was sold to Xorient corporation of California.

Mr. Deshmukh stared Wizarth Advisors in 2004, which had been an advisor to several M&A transaction in the Technology space. Wizath was later merged into Equirus Capital in 2012 and Mr. Deshmukh assumed a key management role at Equirus.

In a career span of more than 20 years, Mr. Deshmukh has been working with founders of IT companies and CEOs of High growth companies in their Inorganic Initiatives. He brings in an unique combination of understanding of Technology, Business, Entrepreneurship allowing him to be an Advisor of choice for several companies.

Mr. Deshmukh currently serves on the board of Camlin Fine Sciences, Indian magic Eye and AARAV Fragrances.
