Akshay Chaturvedi is an Indian entrepreneur. He was listed on the Forbes India’s 30Under30 list,
and then subsequently on the Forbes Asia’s 30Under30 list, both in early 2020. He founded
Leverage Edu, and as its CEO, now runs what is India’s largest Career Guidance and University
Admissions platform, with over 100Mn annual users of 25000+ successfully placed students. He also
started Fly.finance under the Leverage umbrella, which today does over $100Mn worth in annual
loans & $75Mn+ worth of aggregated international remittance with Fly loans and Fly Forex
respectively. Akshay has raised over $30Mn from top global VCs & PEs, family offices, successful
business operators and retail syndicates for his business, LeverageEdu. LeverageEdu was last
valued at $120Mn after its Series B round of financing in March 2022.
Akshay became a CNBC Young Turk, named eponymously after India’s top business/
entrepreneurship show, in 2019. Later that year, he also won the TiE Entrepreneurial Excellence
Award. In 2020, he won the BusinessWorld TechTors award, touted among the top tech
entrepreneurs to watch out for. As Prime Minister’s Champions of Change, selected in 2019, he
worked closely with the Indian ministries on higher education policy framework. In Nov 2022, Akshay
appeared on the cover page of the reputed Entrepreneur Magazine in its edition of “The Most Daring
CEOs”. In July 2020, he was awarded as Entrepreneur of the Year (Consumer Business) by the
Entrepreneur Magazine. He also made it to the ObserveNow 40u40 list in 2022. In June 2022,
Akshay went on to become the Education Entrepreneur of the Year awarded by Entrepreneur India.
He has also been featured on the front page of top business dailies like the Economic Times in over
half a dozen editions in the last year.
Akshay has spoken at UNDP (on scaling Youth Aspirations), WISE (in Qatar; on Cities as the new
education ecosystems), Vivatech Paris (on Future Skills), EdTechX Europe (in London; on Leverage
Edu’s use of AI), at the World Economic Forum (in Astana, Kazakhstan; on higher education models
for the future). He has also spoken at events organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs, FICCI
Frames, PHD Chambers of Commerce, IMC YLF et al. Other than that, he has given long-form
talks at TEDx, Josh Talks, as well as spoken on television & radio programs at Times Now,
CNBC, NDTV, Rajya Sabha TV, All India Radio, RED FM, etc. He has also been interviewed by
international and nationally renowned journalists like Barkha Dutt & Vikram Chandra amongst
others.
